Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised in an multiethnic family. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez hails originally from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. There are two brothers younger than her as well as an older sister. The family relocated to Bahrain in 1980s due to the Lankan turmoil and her birth and education were in Bahrain. She was given a scholarship to go to an undergraduate program at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her schooling in Bahrain. She went to in the Berlitz School of Languages which helped her improve on French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was crown in March 2006; she also participated in Miss Universe 2006 In the aftermath of winning the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television. She anchored a show that was a business show in Sri Lanka named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father was a badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has had a childhood in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. She played badminton at the national championships when she was a teenager but gave up her sport career to become a model. Padukone has Mangalorean origins and speaks Konkani as her mother tongue. Padukone Village is located inside Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi Distric of Karnataka within India. Prakash Padukone has retired as an international badminton player, while her mother is also a travel consultant.
